Disneyland Paris Budget Friendly Hacks

Are you looking to experience the magic of Disneyland Paris without the hefty price tag? A low-cost budget-friendly family trip is absolutely possible with some strategic planning and a little know-how. From savvy ticket purchases to knowing where to eat, here's our money saving guide to making your magical adventure a little lighter on your wallet.

We visited Disneyland Paris as a family of four (2 adults and 2 ten year olds) at peak time in the middle of August! It's busy and Yes, it can be expensive but honestly, it is totally achievable to do Disneyland Paris on a budget!

Disneyland Paris on a Budget

Thankfully, a budget friendly family trip to Disneyland Paris is possible. How long you spend visiting the theme parks can be important, as you can save a lot of money on ticket prices, travel, food and drinks in the parks and hotel accommodation.

If you have the choice, it’s obviously best to avoid going during the school holidays. But, whenever you’re planning to visit Disneyland, our money-saving tips will help you and your family have a brilliant, cost-effective magical adventure.

Disney Hotels & Nearby Accommodation

Ditch the Disney Hotels! While staying at a Disney-themed hotel is part of the fantasy, it's also a major expense. You can save a significant amount of money by staying at a nearby "partner hotel" or other local budget accommodation.

Many of the Disney partner hotels and other low-cost hotels in the area offer free shuttle services to the parks, and some even have additional perks like swimming pools, kids play areas, spas and other amenities. Look for hotels in areas like Serris or Val d'Europe, which are just one train stop away from the Disney Park.

Save Money on Disneyland Park Tickets! 💰

1. Buy your tickets in advance!

The can save money by purchasing dated tickets online in advance. You should also keep an eye out for special offers, like the "Family & Friends" special offer summer ticket, which provides discounts for groups and families of four to six people.

It's important to note that children aged 12+ are considered 'Adults' when purchasing tickets. So try and squeeze the Disneyland Paris trip in before your eldest child turns 12!

2. Buy Dated Tickets in Advance

Opt for dated tickets if you know the exact date of your visit. These tickets are often cheaper than flexible ones and can save you a significant amount of money. Be sure to book in advance, as the earlier you purchase, the better the price 👍

3. Buy Single Park Tickets

If you’re planning to visit only one of the parks each day, either the Disneyland Park or Disney Adventure World (previously Walt Disney Studios Park) , consider purchasing single-park tickets. This can be a more economical choice if you’re limited on time or only interested in one park’s attractions or shows. It's worth checking what rides and shows are open around the time of your visit as that may well dictate which one of the two Parks you might want to visit.

Disneyland Paris Two Park Ticket Options
Disneyland Paris One Park or Two Park Ticket Options

4. Compare prices between single day and multi-day tickets

If you're visiting for two days during the low season, it's worth taking a look at the prices per day, as it may well be cheaper to buy two 1-day tickets rather than one 2-day ticket. This could work well if you're planning to visit just one park each day. This will also give you the added advantage of 'breaking up' your visits... so rather than having to rush back early on Day Two of your 2-day pass ticket (they are two consecutive days), think about giving yourself a break in-between to recuperate - these Parks are tiring!

5. Buy Tickets before the Price Increases

Ticket prices usually go up annually each spring, but most tickets are good for a year from the purchase date. Buy your tickets before the price hike to lock in the current rates and save money!

At the time of writing, Disneyland Paris ticket sales operate on a 'dynamic pricing' structure so the earlier you book, the cheaper your ticket.

Disneyland Paris Prices

6. Use Partner Ticket Sites

Several authorised partner sites (also known as reseller sites) offer discounted Disneyland Paris tickets. These sites can provide lower prices than official ticket vendors, but make sure they are reputable. See our tips below on using Partner sites to purchase tickets on other websites such as Picniq.

7. Visit on weekdays

If you can’t visit during the low season, you can also save money and get the lower prices on park tickets by visiting Disneyland Paris during the weekdays. Weekends tend to be busier, so tickets and other costs can be higher. By choosing a weekday, you’ll likely find slightly cheaper prices.

8. Check for Available Discounts

Check out the current discounts available to individuals and groups such as those for people with disabilities, students, seniors, or larger groups.

Disneyland also offer discounts for Military personnel where active or retired military personnel can enjoy a ticket discount by presenting official proof of service issued by the French, U.K., or U.S. government.

Disneyland Discounts for Military Personnel

Disney Plus subscribers often receive offers and deals including discounted rates on hotel packages during limited periods.

There are also sometimes promotions for specific credit card holders or members of certain organisations.

9. Consider Hotel and Ticket Packages

Booking a hotel and ticket package will be cheaper than purchasing tickets and accommodations separately. Disneyland Paris also share special deals that provide additional discounts on both park tickets and hotel stays, which might offer better overall value. The packages often include 'free meals' or free 'character meet and greets' so it's worth a look if that's your thing! 👍

10. Ultimate Ticket Money Saving Tip…

If you’re visiting Disneyland Paris for 3 days or more, or plan to return later in the year, consider getting the Disneyland Pass (Disneyland Paris Annual Pass). It could save you money on entry and give you more perks such as Free parking, Free Disney PhotoPass, Discounts in restaurants and on merchandise as well as access to exclusive character meet and greets and parties within the park! There are various options available. Further details here: Disneyland Paris Annual Pass.

💡 Look out for the Disneyland 'Family & Friends' Ticket Offers!

Disneyland Paris often run a 'Family & Friends' ticket deal. This is a public offer available for groups and families. Details include -

  • Your booking must include between 4 and 6 people.

  • The offer is for a 1-day dated ticket which can be for either park.

  • The exact savings depend on the specific date you book as prices can vary on different dates. For example, we paid £232 for 8th August but the price is £172 on 26 September.

  • These special offer tickets can be purchased directly from the Disneyland Paris website, or through a partner website. See below for further details of booking through a partner website sich as Picniq.

We purchased one day one park dated tickets during the Family & Friends promotion through Picniq and paid just £232 for the four of us. That's just £58 each for 15 hours of limitless rides and entertainment. Wow! And we had a Blast!! 🤩

💰 Book Disneyland tickets through a Disney Partner Website!

Buy your Disneyland Paris tickets through a partner website, it's cheaper!! Instead of booking your Disneyland Park tickets directly on the Disneyland Paris website, if you book through a partner website such as Picniq, you will often find a cheaper rate!

We booked our Disneyland Paris 'Family & Friends' tickets through a partner website called Picniq - a UK based ticketing website offering hundreds of attraction tickets throughout the UK and Europe. They include access to the current Disneyland Paris offers and promotions, so we managed to get the Disneyland Family & Friends ticket offer at a discount!

Disney Tickets 1 Day 1 Park Price Comparison
Disneyland Family & Friends Offer (1 Day 1 Park)

Compare prices for yourself direct on the Disneyland Paris website and on the Picniq discount attractions website. Prices do vary depending on the dates you want to visit. For example, we paid £232 for 8th August but the price is just £172 on dates in September. That's £172 for 4 people - that's just £43 each!! £43 each for a fabukous day out including all your rides! 🥳 🎉 ✨

Another partner website worth looking at is Get Your Guide. Get Your Guide sell attraction tickets literally everywhere in the world! They offer some great discounts so it's well worth a look. At the time of my research, Picniq came out slightly cheaper than Get Your Guide, but this might change.

Food & Drink in the Disney Parks

One of the easiest ways to save money at Disneyland is to take your own food and drinks! You are allowed to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks into the parks. Pack snacks, sandwiches, and reusable water bottles. There are water fountains throughout the park, which is a big money-saver when bottled drinks are so expensive.

If you do want to buy food in the park, the quick-service restaurants are more affordable than sit-down or buffet options. We ate at the fast-food restaurant Café Hyperion in Discoveryland - it was very like a McDonalds style restaurant and the prices were reasonable.

Our Recommendation! Take your own packed lunch. You can whip up a couple of simple sandwiches from your hotel breakfast bar and wrap them up in a hotel napkin for your lunch, or pop into a lovely French sandwich shop whilst passing through the train or bus station and pick up your lunch for at least Half the Price you'll pay in the Parks!

And when you're not forking out on lunch in the Parks you can afford to buy them a cheeky €3 Disney Ear ice cream, crepe or other little treat so you're not always 'saying no' and make the 'spends' special moments !

Our Super Savvy TOP TIPS for visiting Disney in A Day!

If you've decided to opt for the ONE DAY ONE PARK cheaper ticket (as we did!) here's our top tips for smashing out the main Disneyland Park in A DAY whilst keeping you on budget... 🎢

1. Before You Go (ESSENTIAL!) 🎟️

  • Buy park tickets online in advance (cheaper + saves time)

  • Download the Disneyland Paris App to track queue times

  • Check Disney Park opening hours the day before and check which rides are closed (there are always a couple of rides that will be closed for maintenance)

  • Plan your day so you're ready to run as soon as the gates open

Disneyland Park Paris

2. Arrival Strategy ⏰

  • Arrive 30 - 45 minutes before opening (“rope drop”)

  • Be ready at the gates for rope drop - the first 1 - 2 hours are GOLD for low queues!

If you're there for the rides rather than the princesses… take the Secret Shortcut route when you arrive to get you straight into Frontierland and onto Big Thunder Mountain 🤫

The Secret Shortcut Route -

👉 As most people head right down Main Street… YOU GO LEFT...

  • Queue at the entry gates on the LEFT side (most people queue on the right)

  • Enter and take the path ahead to the left of Emporium - it goes behind Emporium through Liberty Arcade (looks like you're walking through a shopping area - which you are!)

  • Look for the walkway on the left after the shops

  • The walkway cuts straight through towards Frontierland (it's not obvious on the maps - which is why you need to know about it! 👀)

  • When you exit the walkway, turn right… and the entrance to Big Thunder Mountain will be along the way on your left 🎢

This shortcut gets you ahead of the queues - You'll have ridden Big Thunder Mountain before the crowds have even arrived! 🎯

3. Suggested Morning Ride Itinerary 🎢

If you're here for the thrill rides, here's our suggested itinerary...

🥇 1. Big Thunder Mountain
  • GO HERE FIRST

  • Biggest queues in the park (can hit 90+ mins later)

  • Sometimes shows as “closed” on the App which means the queues are full so they temporarily close the queues.

🏴‍☠️ 2. Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Head straight here after Big Thunder Mountain

  • Great ride, usually shorter queue times early on

Disneyland Big Thrill Rides

🐍 3. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril
  • Quick thrill ride roller coaster

  • Lines build fast later in the day

🚀 4. Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain
  • For older kids / thrill seekers

  • Fast, intense, and in the dark roller coaster 😅

👾 5. Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast
  • Fun, interactive, and great for all ages

  • Competitive families LOVE this one

  • Recently been upgraded

4. Lunch Strategy 🍔

If you're eating in the restaurants, eat early (11:30) or late (2pm) to avoid queues and higher 'peak time' prices. Some good value options include:

  • Colonel Hathi’s Pizza Outpost - filling + budget-friendly

  • Fuente del Oro Restaurante - decent portions

  • Hakuna Matata Restaurant - great variety

5. Afternoon Plan (14:00–18:00)

Queues peak here - so slow it down a bit:

  • Use this time to ride any other rides you fancy

  • If you're not fussed about watching the Parade... use the Parade time as an opportunity to jump in line for a ride.

  • Revisit favourites with shorter queues

  • Snacks / shopping / rest

  • Don't forget to take photos - there are so many photo opportunities!

  • You might want to consider Fast Pass (Premier Access) to jump the queues but only use Premier Access if queues are crazy

6. Evening Strategy 🌙

  • As the queues start to die down, re-ride your favourites or hit anything you missed out on during the day.

  • End your day with a stunning one-of-a-kind nighttime spectacular with dazzling fireworks, water screen projections, flames and drone displays so make the most of your day and stay for the evening show - it's a stunning experience.

  • The Disneyland evening show times vary on time of the year but be sure to grab your spot at least an hour before show time at the height of the busy summer season! 🌟

💸 Our Top Money Saving Tips at Disneyland Paris!

  • Buy tickets in advance through Picniq

  • If you have access to Magic Hours (included when you book a Disney hotel) ensure you make use of those 'magic' hours and do all the rides on your list and save your money on Premium Access (Fast Pass).

  • Bring your own food, snacks + refillable water bottles.

  • Avoid parking fees and use the Free Disney shuttle service to get there/back or use public transport - the train (RER A) goes directly to Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy station.

  • Most surrounding hotels offer a free (or cheap) shuttle bus service to the Parks. Ask for the timetable at hotel reception.

Disney Shuttle Bus Timetable

  • For the little one's, pack your own costume - they cost a fortune in the Park! Little one's in costumes seem to get more interaction with characters! 😍

  • Set a souvenir budget BEFORE you go - better still - Buy your hats and t-shirts from retail outlets BEFORE you get there and wear them on arrival! 😆

  • One stop before Disney on the train in Val d’Europe there’s a massive shopping centre, including Primark selling Disney merchandise! There's also a large supermarket useful for stocking up on food and drinks.

Disneyland Souvenirs
Disneyland Souvenirs
  • Avoid impulse spending by steering clear of the shops!

  • Skip (or limit) Premier Access (Fast Pass) unless queues are huge - you can hop into the App whilst you're there to buy a pass for individual rides when needed - no need to buy on arrival.

  • Eat at the fast-food type places rather than Meet & Greet Character lunches - it's far cheaper! If you do want to visit any particular restaurants - book them early!

  • Indulge in classic Disney treats without breaking the bank. Grab an iconic Mickey-shaped ice cream for around €3, or try the delicious Nutella Crêpe from street vendors.

Disneyland Paris Treats
Disneyland Paris Treats
  • Avoid Peak times if possible! Weekends during school holidays get BUSY and ticket prices are higher.

  • Use the Single Rider lines to get through the queues faster. You obviously won't ride together... but you'll cut through the queues faster!

  • If you're visiting with small children but want to ride yourself use the Rider Switch (or "Baby Switch") which allows adults to take turns on thrill rides without waiting in the full queue twice. One parent rides while the other waits with the child, then they swap, with the second adult often using the exit or Premier Access line to board immediately. Ask for a parent swap pass at the end off a ride.

  • Remember to stop and take photos for souvenirs - there are lots of photo opportunities around the Park. Frame your favourite snaps them when you get home!

Disneyland Paris Photo Opportunities
Disneyland Paris Photo Opportunities!
  • Download the Disney App to check queue times + purchase Fast Passes. See below 👇

  • Wear comfortable shoes - you'll do a LOT of walking!

  • Take a small 'first aid kit' to include plasters and medications such Calpol and headache tablets for adults as you can't buy these items 'over the counter' in France as you can in the UK.

  • Don't forget Sunscreen! The queues are long, not all in the shade and sun cream costs a fortune in the Parks if you forget it!

Disney Photo Pass 📸 ✨

A Disney PhotoPass at Disneyland Paris typically costs around €85 to €90. It provides 10 days of unlimited, high-quality digital downloads for character meet-and-greets, ride photos, and "Magic Shots," usable by the whole family. It actually works out at really good value but it is best purchased in advance as part of a package or buy one early on from the Park shops and boutiques. When you see an official Park photographer, simply hand over your photo pass and any photos taken will be added to your pass. This includes ALL photos that are taken on the ride cameras, which is why you need to buy it early on to get full use! You'll get access to all your photos which you can download up to 12 months after your purchase.

‼️ Essential! Download The Disney App 🐭✨

It's essential to download the Disney App before you go. There is FREE Wifi throughout the Disneyland Paris Parks. You can download the Free Disney App here - Disneyland App

Disneyland App
Download the Disneyland App before you go!

Here's what you'll find within the Disney App and why you need it...

Pre-Arrival Features:

  • Ticket & Hotel Integration: Link your booking immediately. This allows you to use the Digital Key feature for Disney Hotels (skipping the front desk) and keeps your park tickets ready to scan at the gate.

  • Dining Reservations: You can book tables up to 2 months in advance (or 12 months if you are a Disney Hotel guest). Popular spots like the new The Regal View or Pizzeria Bella Notte fill up instantly.

  • Wishlists: Use the "Disney Picks" feature before you leave home to heart your "must-do" attractions. This creates a personalised itinerary for you to follow once you’re on the ground.

Maps and Finding your Way Around:

The Disney App is fantastic for offering directions from A to B with an interactive map showing your precise location within the Parks. You can use the App to find:

  • Nearest toilets

  • Nearest water refill stations

  • Shops & Restaurants

  • Rides & Attractions

  • Queue times

  • Closed Rides information

  • Parade & Show Times

  • Character Meet & Greets

Disneyland App

If you did want to pick up a copy of a paper map (it's nice to have as a souvenir), you can collect one at the information point on your way in.

Disney Premier Access:

The App is the only way to purchase and manage Disney Premier Access, which has replaced the old FastPass system.

  • Premier Access One: Use this for a "pay-per-ride" bypass. It’s perfect for jumping the queue where there's a long wait. Keep an eye on queue times in the App then purchase a one-off pass for the rides that you need.

  • Premier Access Ultimate: A one-time purchase that allows you to skip the line once on every eligible attraction across both parks. It's a little pricey, but if you're short on time and want to knock out all the rides double quick, this access pass is for you!

Disneyland Paris Fast Pass Options

  • Real-Time Wait Times: The app provides live GPS-enabled maps showing exactly how long the standby lines are, helping you zig when everyone else zags.

Disney Premier Access
Disney Premier Access (Fast Pass)

The Virtual Queue System:

With the massive popularity of the World of Frozen, Disneyland Paris often utilises a Virtual Queue.

  • How it works: You must be physically inside the park (ticket scanned) to join.

  • Character Encounters: Major meet-and-greets, like meeting Anna and Elsa at Rencontre Royale or Avengers at the Hero Training Center, are handled almost exclusively via app-based virtual queues.

  • Booking Waves: Slots usually open in "waves" (e.g., morning and afternoon). Ensure to enable push notifications from the App so you don't miss these windows!

Mobile Food Ordering:

You can order food to be collected via the in App Mobile Order facility -

  • You can browse menus, pay in the app, and select a pickup window.

  • Note: While many quick-service spots like Stage Door Café use this, some locations have reverted to in-person ordering in 2026, so checking the app for the "Order Food" icon is the best way to see what's available that day.

Book Restaurants and Order Food in the Disneyland App

Live Show & Parade Times:

The Disney entertainment schedule is packed, including the new "Disney Cascade of Lights" nighttime spectacular. The app provides:

  • Precise start times for parades and shows.

  • The exact locations of "Pop-up" character appearances that aren't on the main map.

  • Accessibility information for every show and ride.

💡 TOP TIP! Between checking wait times, taking photos, and scanning QR codes for Premier Access, the Disneyland Paris app is a notorious battery drain! Consider taking a portable power bank.

Disneyland Character Meet and Greets

Honest Ride Tips (from our experience! 😅)

  • Peter Pan - VERY long queues… not worth it unless your child is desperate!

  • Hyperspace Mountain - intense! Thrill riders only - not for young sensitive stomachs! 😆

  • Princess Pavilion - expect VERY long waits (plan carefully if this matters). Also be mindful that they do not announce which Princess you will meet (although you soon get to hear which Princess it is whilst you're in the queue - which might change by the time you get to the front!). Take snacks and entertainment for the queue! (we queued for over 2 hours!)

Not to be Missed Disney Experiences! 🐉✨

Catch the Dragon under Sleeping Beauty Castle - So many visitors completely miss the dragon! The Dragon is animatronic and his lair is very atmospheric. It's a brilliant piece and a lovely chance to take a break from the queuing and just absorb the magic of Disney. The Dragon is located below Sleeping Beauty Castle, take the castle entrance on the left 🐲

Mickey’s Kiss Goodnight - Mickey Mouse appears on the Main Street U.S.A. Train Station waves guests goodnight and recites a few lines. This occurs approximately 10 minutes after Disney Illuminations finishes and recurs sporadically thereafter in about 10-15 minute intervals.

Don't miss the Disney Nighttime Illuminations entertainment!

Have Fun!

A visit to DIsneyland Paris is a wonderful experience for all the family. Arrive early with a plan for the day, prioritise your rides, and be smart about where you spend your money.

With a little preparation, you can avoid long queue times (to an extent), use the fast pass option wisely, reduce unnecessary costs, and focus on what really matters: having an incredible day in one of the world’s best theme parks.

Have a fantastic time and enjoy every moment! Be sure to pop over to our Facebook page and let us know how you got on!
