Essential Tips for the Best Day Ever at Siam Park

  • 15 min read

If you’re heading to Siam Park at Costa Adeje in Tenerife, you’re in for an unforgettable day. Voted best water park in the world for the 10th consecutive year by TripAdvisor, Siam Park offers 30+ waterslides and attractions from thrill rides to the world’s longest lazy river. It combines adrenaline-pumping rides with a tropical Thai theme and relaxing beach areas.

But it’s also extremely popular - so a bit of planning can make the difference between a stressful day and an amazing one 🤩

Essential Tips for the Best Day Ever at Siam Park Tenerife

Our recent trip to Tenerife was a Jet2 holiday package which included unlimited access to Siam Park throughout our 10 night stay, so we could literally come and go as we pleased. We first visited on a Tuesday over the Easter holidays, knowing it would be busy but we just wanted to get a feel for the park so we'd be properly prepared for our next visits.

And prepared we were! We smashed out every ride in the park with very little queueing during the Easter Holidays - that's right... you can smash out every ride in the park even on the busiest days! And we'll share with you how we did it.

Here’s how to make the most of your visit, plus some smart ways to save money along the way...

Best Times to Visit Siam Park

Choosing the right time to visit Siam Park can make a huge difference to your experience. With the right timing, you can avoid long queues, enjoy more rides, and have a much more relaxing day overall.

Time of Year Matters

Tenerife is a year-round destination, but Siam Park has peak and quieter seasons:

  • Peak season: School holidays (especially summer, Christmas, and Easter) are the busiest times. Expect longer queues and a more crowded park.

  • Shoulder season: Spring and autumn are ideal - good weather but fewer crowds.

  • Low season: Winter months (excluding holidays) tend to be quieter, making it easier to enjoy more rides without waiting too long.

Siam Park Tenerife

If your schedule is flexible, aim for term-time outside major holidays for the best balance of weather and crowd levels.

Best Days of the Week to Visit the Park

This is an interesting one! Many internet posts will tell you that midweek visits (Tuesday - Thursday) are generally less busy than weekends and you should avoid Saturdays and Sundays where possible as weekends attract both tourists and locals.

However.... the Tenerife Tour Reps based in Tenerife will tell you that Mondays and Tuesdays are the busiest and that the weekends are the best time to visit. The rationale is that most 'changeover' dates are at the weekend with many holiday makers arriving on their Tenerife holiday on a Saturday or a Sunday... they then take a day or two to find their bearings before starting their holiday activities on a Monday or Tuesday... which kinda makes sense!

We visited Siam Park on a Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday over the Easter holidays. We had an unlimited Siam Park entry ticket valid for 14 consecutive days as part of our Jet2 holiday package.

Siam Park Tenerife

Day 1 - We arrived late on the Tuesday around 10.45am before the Easter weekend knowing it was going to be busy, but wanting to get a feel of the Park and get a plan together for our next visit. Needless to say it was rammed! 🤣

We got in the queue for Saifa not actually knowing what to expect and no idea of what we were queuing for. Daughter was getting anxious queuing as she didn't know what the ride was... mindful we didn't want to spook her on the first ride, I took her out of the line after about 20 mins waiting and we went to find another ride whilst hubby and son remained in the queue (total 40 minutes queue time).

So we walked back down all the steps and walked up to a Map board by Singha... where we met a lovely American family with 2 boys similarly aged to my daughter who had just ridden Singha. They told her that Singha was brilliant, like being in a washing machine, you get squirted a lot but it's really fun and she should really give it a go.

So we got in the queue... about 15 minutes if that? And she did it... she went on Singha and absolutely LOVED it! You get absolutely blasted from all directions... there's no 'looking good' for anyone after this ride, it literally blasts you with water from all directions (which is what makes it so fun) so might not be for some of you, but we were packed up laughing getting off that ride and after that, there was no stopping her! Day 2 - We got a taxi from the hotel on the Saturday and arrived at 9.25am (Easter weekend) so we got their early. We found our lockers (Dragon lockers) and we were one of the first in line for The Dragon. We smashed out Dragon, Vulcona and all the Jungle Snakes in under an hour... zero queues until around 11am. We chilled out on the Mai Thai Lazy River and had lunch at Coco Beach before leaving at 2pm with a view to coming back the following morning.

Day 3 - Taxi again and arrived at 9.40am (Easter Sunday). Same 'Dragon' lockers but we headed over to the far left of the Park towards Kinnaree and Saifa. Smashed out both rides 'twice' in under an hour.... the time was taken walking up the steps rather than queuing (there's a lot of steps! 🤣) We jumped on Singha and both the Rapids with only about 5 minute queue time at each, as we headed back to the Dragon lockers and left the Park at 1pm and headed back to the hotel for the all-inclusive lunch 😆

Siam Park Ride Restrictions

My favourite ride (mum aged 55): Singha (not as many steps to climb as Saifa!)

Hubby's favourite ride (dad aged 58): Saifa

Daughter's favourite ride (girl aged 11): Patong Rapids

Son's favourite ride (boy aged 11): The Dragon

Best 'family ride': Kinnaree TO NOTE!! Some rides are restricted to 4 people... so if you're a family of 3 or a 2, you will be put in with other people or 'single riders'. Me and my daughter had a great time on the Rapids with two lovely young ladies... we had the best ride and laughed a lot. So just because you're 'in with someone you don't know' doesn't make the experience any less fun! 🤩 💦

Plan Ahead to get the Best Siam Park Experience

Siam Park gets busy so preparation is key! Whether you've just bought a day pass, or you have unlimited access, you're sure to find our Siam Park tips useful...

Plan Your Day!

Before you arrive you MUST do a little research and make yourself familiar with the rides, where they are located and which rides you want to do. If you're visiting Siam Park as a family, the rides you'll want to do will largely depend on the age and height of your children, so be sure to have this information before you arrive to save you valuable time 'just wandering around'.

You should at the least look at the Siam Park Map to get a feel for where everything is. It can get quite confusing once you're in the Park so having this knowledge will prove extremely useful and time saving.

There are Map Boards throughout the park, but in my opinion there just aren't enough of them. Bear in mind that where you get on a ride, is not necessarily where you'll come out and it can be a little disorientating! 😂 💦

In our opinion, the "Big Three" rides to aim for include:

  • The Dragon: A massive funnel slide. It’s iconic and gets busy fast.

  • Kinaree: A high-speed "tornado" slide that is a total rush.

  • Saifa: Similar in style to Singha but a longer ride - get ready for a soaking!

What to Pack 🎒

You won't need to take much at all as you'll be spending most of your time on the rides, but here's some items you might want to consider taking with you:

  • Swimwear (wear it on arrival to save time)

  • Sunscreen

  • Flip-flops or water shoes (water shoes are ideal)

  • A towel

  • Keep your phone on you with a Waterproof Phone Pouch

  • If you're on a budget, take your own bottled water, snacks and some pre-made sandwiches from the hotel breakfast!

Hats and sunglasses are useful if you'll be lounging around, but you won't be able to wear them on the majority of the rides so leave them in your locker if you're doing the rides.

Towels are no longer available to hire, only to purchase (€19.90). You'll also find water shoes  (€11) and waterproof phone pouches (€10) for sale in all the locker rooms as well as flip-flops (€7.90) and Siam Park baseball caps (from €1!). Wetsuits are also available to purchase (Adults €33, Children €28)

Siam Park Locker Rooms

Opening Times

The park is open 365 days a year, but the hours shift with the seasons. The opening times at Siam Park are currently:

  • Summer (May 1 - Oct 30): 10:00am to 6:00pm

  • Winter (Oct 31 - April 30): 10:00am to 5:00pm

💡TOP TIP! Now a lot of people assume the stated opening times refer to the when the park gates are open, but actually the times are when the RIDES are open. The entrance gates of Siam Park open earlier than the rides, so aim to arrive at 9.30am. Getting through the turnstiles early allows you to grab a locker and be at the front of the line at the big slides ready for "rope drop" at 10am!

Tactics to Make the Most of Siam Park!

Top Tactics for the BEST Day out at Siam Park!

If you're visiting Siam Park for the thrill of the rides rather than the sunbeds... here's our tactical guide to what you should do to maximise your day at Siam Park...

  • Grab a taxi and arrive at the park at 9.30am!

  • Arrive 'swim ready' - Don't waste time faffing around getting changed, have your swimwear on ready to strip off in the locker room

  • Head to the lockers closest to the ride you want to do first

  • Change your footwear to water shoes and put your phone in a Waterproof Phone Pouch

  • Bung everything in a locker - The Dragon locker rooms are a good place to aim for as it's a central location with lots of rides nearby (most people aim for the Wave Palace lockers first thing so they can grab a sunbed).

  • Don't forget to apply sunscreen! Now's a good time to go to the toilet!

  • Get in the queue (if there is one!) ready for your first ride. We were on the Dragon at 9:52 and back up the steps waiting to ride Vulcano by 10am - so they do sometimes open the rides early, which is why you need to make sure you're there ready to go!

  • Do all the bigger rides first... leave the Lazy River until later on. Unless of course you're only there for the Lazy River! 😆 💦

💡 TOP TIP! If you have a Siam Park unlimited entry ticket as part of your package holiday (as we did), aim to do half days in the Park rather than a full day. The Park gets REALLY busy from 11am onwards. So instead of spending your afternoons in the queues, head to the park in the mornings, then relax by your hotel pool in the afternoon! 🤩

Fast Pass Tickets

We did find the Siam Park website slightly misleading when we looked at Fast Pass options before we went as there is only an option to book UNLIMITED Fast Pass tickets online at a cost of €99 per person. This fast pass gives access to jump the queue unlimited times on all the rides, so you can ride as many times as you want.

However... once you're in the park you also have the option to purchase a LIMITED Fast Pass which gives you access to jump the queue ONCE on all the rides (except Tower of Power and the Mai Thai Lazy River).

At the time of writing the Fast Pass Limited costs €38 per person and is only available to purchase once you're in the Park. You can purchase a Fast Pass Limited from the ticket office or the souvenir shops on the Floating Market by the changing rooms.

The Fast Pass Limited priced at €38 is a great way to jump the queues on all of the rides (except Tower of Power and the Lazy River), especially if you're just there for one day as the park gets really busy from 11am. To Note - you can only jump the queues only ONCE PER RIDE on the limited fast pass.

Siam Park Fast Pass
Siam Park Fast Pass Options

The Fast Pass Limited concept seems to work in that the lifeguards loading riders onto each of the rides 'stamp' the rider's wristband with a marker pen. Although the rules state 'ride once', we did see 'fast passers' wrists being stamped on the Mekong Rapids and Patong Rapids being told to come back up and ride the other Rapid on the same stamp.... so where a ride starts in the same place, you could potentially just get stamped the once. This will probably be the case at the Jungle Snake rides where slides depart from the same location.

💡 TOP TIP! You don't need to buy your Fast Pass right away. Wait to see how long the queues get and if you find you're hanging around for too long, then buy a Fast Pass from the souvenir shops and start jumping the queues on the rides you still have yet to do.

VIP options are also available. There are also All Inclusive options where you get all your food and drink included. You can view all the options on the Siam Park website.

Transport to/from Siam Park

Getting to Siam Park is surprisingly easy, regardless of where you're staying.

Siam Park Transport

  • The Free Siam Bus: A double-decker bus runs every 30 - 60 minutes from major hubs in Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas, and Costa Adeje (Fanabe). Look for the distinctive blue and yellow bus stops.

  • Paid Shuttle (Puerto de la Cruz/South): If you're staying further away (like Puerto de la Cruz or Golf del Sur), you can book a dedicated coach transfer via the Siam Park website for roughly €15–€20 return.

  • Taxi Transfers: If you’re in the South (Costa Adeje / Fanabe area), a taxi is often the most stress-free option, costing roughly €10 - €15. From the South Airport (TFS), expect to pay around €30 - €40.

Tips on Departing Siam Park...

There are Three free shuttle bus stops directly in front of the entrance to the Siam Park. As you arrive, take a photo of the bus departure times relevant to your location so you know what time to aim for at the end of your day.

Be wary as the buses don't run exactly to time... we saw a couple of buses leave early and some arrive late, so expect to be hanging around for a while!

💡 NOTE! It is extremely busy leaving the Park around 5pm. Queues are huge for the free shuttle bus service so you just need to be patient. Likewise the queue for taxis is enormous! If you can, try to leave a little earlier and get the earlier bus OR stay in the Park until the rides close then have a drink or a bite to eat or use the free changing rooms and showers and wait for the later bus. Or pre-arrange for a taxi to collect you.

Below are photos of the departure times of the free shuttle bus. Photos were taken early April so will likely change for the summer season but it will give you an idea of what to look for...

Money-Saving Tips 💸

A day at Siam Park can quickly add up, but there are several ways to keep costs down. Here's our Top Money Saving Tips whilst visiting Siam Park -

1. Buy Tickets through Attractiontix and get a FREE Burger! 🍔

That's right, book your Siam Park tickets online through Attractiontix (it's the same price as booking direct on the Siam Park website) and you'll receive a voucher for a Free Burger for each ticket purchased 🍔

2. Buy a Twin Park Ticket 🎟️ 🎟️

Loro Parque  is an animal and conservation park hosting over 400 animal species located in the North of Tenerife. If you’re planning to visit Loro Parque as well as Siam Park, purchase a combined ticket. It’s significantly cheaper than buying both separately. Check out prices here - Twin Park Ticket.

To Note! If you're staying in South Tenerife be aware that the bus journey to Loro Parque (in the North) is approx. 1.5 hours.

3. Use the Free Shuttle Bus 🚌

Siam Park offers a free shuttle bus service from popular tourist areas like Costa Adeje (Fanabe), Las Americas and Los Cristianos - saving you taxi (€10-€15) or parking costs (approx €7).

That said, if you've only got one day to get through the whole of Siam Park, you need to get there early and we'd highly recommend the €10-€15 taxi fare to ensure you get into the park and in the queue before the rides open at 10am.

Use the Free Shuttle Bus to get you home, but do expect long queues if you leave the park around 5pm! Try to aim to leave earlier or stay in the park for a drink and a bite to eat and get the later bus 👍

4. Bring Your Own Food 🥪 🍎

Taking your own food into Siam Park used to be restricted, but that seems to have changed. We had no problem at all bringing in a couple of ham and cheese rolls we'd made up at the hotel breakfast. They do conduct a bag search on your way into the park... but they literally just take a peek... they don't go rummaging around your bag looking for what food you're bringing in! 😆 We also spotted this listed on the Where To Eat page on the Siam Park website which states for a charge of €3 they will store your food for you and you can eat at the 'exclusive picnic area'...

Siam Park Bring Your Own Food

We also took filled refillable water bottles - thankfully we pre-filled them, as we didn't see any water refill stations in the park 🤷‍♀️ There must be some somewhere, but in fairness we didn't actually need them.

We actually found the food inside Siam Park to be quite reasonably priced and we were pleasantly surprised at the prices. Coco Beach Cafe was very reasonable with a cheese burger priced at €7 (which was delicious) and fries at €3 (you got loads!). Friends who were there at the same time ate at Siam Beach and also said they found prices to be reasonable.

5. Skip Unnecessary Extras 🚫

  • You can't hire towels at Siam Park anymore, we could only see them for sale priced at €19.90 in the locker rooms so be sure to bring your own towel.

  • Take your own water shoes if you already have them (they are €11 to buy in the park).

  • Only buy fast passes if queues are long or if you’re short on time. Don't buy them straight away... check out the queue times first.

  • Don't pay for a "VIP Cabana" unless you have a huge budget! The sunbeds and parasols are free and plentiful near Siam Beach if you need one - just claim yours early. There are also lots of sunbeds and brollies around Coco Beach.

  • Use the FREE Wifi - Save on your roaming charges and stay connected! Free Wifi is available throughout the entire park.

  • Life jackets (if required) are also included within your ticket price - there are no extra charges if you want to use these items. Just ask at reception or a member of staff at the rides.
